About Wesley

Wesley Mission is Australia's largest Christian complex

How we practice our faith

  • Reaching the people.
The Mission lives by evangelism. It seeks to reach the people of the city area who are beyond the fringe of the church and have no relationship with any other church.
Outstretched hand
"The Church which only worships will die."
  • Worshiping and serving.
The worship of God and the service of human need belong together.  Wesley Mission is Australia's greatest cluster of charitable and serving agencies ministering through more than 400 homes, hospitals, hostels and agencies.
  • Befriending others in the big city. There is an endless need for friendship and caring in any large city. Wesley Mission with more than 250 home groups, educational classes and dozens of fellowship activities provides night and day a program for thousands of people in the heart of the city.
  • Acting against social ills.
The Church that ministers in providing welfare to the social needs of a community, must also be involved in social justice. It is not enough to care for the hurt victims of society's ills, there must be a front-on attack against social diseases that dehumanise and impoverish.
  • Using the highways of communication.
Just as St. Paul used the great highways to take the gospel into the entire known world, Wesley Mission seeks to use the great highways of modern communication to reach into society.
